How do I Book?

It’s easy to Book, just follow our online booking system. Once registered you will be able to proceed straight to checkout for all future hires. If you have any problems or questions please call 07988 852997.

Can I rent the bike and bring it back anytime?

No, you must select how long you wish to hire for and return the bikes within your hire period. Our hub is open till 10pm each day. You can extend your hire using your account subject to availability.

Do I need a debit or credit card?

Yes, you must have a credit or debit card to hire a Tawe Bike

Can I hire more than one bike on my account?

Yes you can hire up to 4 bikes per account.

Can I take the bike out of the area?

Tawe bikes are most suited for use on the cycleway network. You can take the bikes anywhere but they must be returned to our Hub. Tawe Bikes are not suitable for mountain bike trails or any rough terrain.

Do you provide locks and helmets?

Yes locks are fitted to the frame and helmets are provided free of charge which each hire. We strongly advise all users to wear a cycle helmet.

Are there any other charges or penalties?

We do not require a deposit, however we may make additional charges in the following circumstances.

  • Lost or damaged key £8
  • Lost or damaged lock – £20
  • Lost or damaged helmet – £25
  • Later return – first 30 minutes we will waive, 30+ minutes late – £2.50, over 60 minutes late – £2.50 per 30 mins
  • Bike returned damaged (fair wear and tear excluded, minor chips to paint work, etc is not damage) – up to £75
  • Bike lost or stolen £200

What type of bikes do you hire?

We only hire one model of bike, which is a one size unisex step through public hire bike.

  • 3 speed nexus gear
  • Quick adjust saddle
  • Front and rear lights
  • Goods basket (max weight 5kg)

Do you hire child bikes?

No we do hire any other sort of bike. You are welcome to bring your own bikes.

What if the bike is damaged or I get a puncture?

Please check the bike at the start of your hire to make sure nothing is obviously wrong.

If you do find a fault after renting a bike, you can return to our hub and exchange it for another or alternatively a refund if no bikes are currently available.

Our bikes feature puncture resistant rubber wheels.
